This is Ozzy, my 3 year old Friesian. I have only owned this boy for 2 years, but they have been amazing. He arrived a little under weight and scabby from untreated sweet itch and was a complete idiot to handle. Our first year together was challenging; he didn’t seem to put much weight on, but his manners on the ground were improving. And by the end of our first year, he was happily being led through the busiest of traffic and was so gentle on the ground that my 2 year old son could lead him.
I had him gelded as a 2 year old and suddenly his weight improved. Our bond has just grown and grown. I know this boy loves me as much as I love him; I hear it in his whinny when I shout him from the up the path and see it in his bucks of joy as he races me to the gate. We play this little game every day. He turned 3 in May and we are well on our way to being a great riding team. To feel the power my horse has is the best feeling ever. We are taking things slowly and one step at a time. My Ozz Man is amazing I am so lucky to own such a gentle, loving, powerful and stunningly beautiful horse.
